President Ruto impressed by Swahili Village set up by a Kenyan in the US
President William Ruto visited Swahili Village restaurant owned by a Kenyan investor in New Jersy. Ruto who is on a trip to the United States, visited Kevin Onyona’s restaurant and praised the Kenyan entrepreneur for flying the national flag abroad.
“Witnessing the success of thriving Kenyans abroad propels our resolve to intensify our foreign relations efforts aimed at broadening opportunities for many more, wrote Ruto on X, formerly Twitter.
Onyona, took him on a tour of the facility where several guests were already seated and dining but immediately swiped out their phones to capture the President as he went around touching furnishings, greeting patrons and infectiously laughing with his hosts.
Swahili Village, worth US$ 3,5 million was founded by Onyona in 2016 and has has grown into a network of African cuisine eateries across the United States.
